May ATC

Here is my ATC entry for the Craft Den ATC challenge. May's theme was flowers. I just realised that the sun has reflected off the metal when I have taken the photo, but the ATC is with Lynne now so it will have to do!

I am a bit addicted to stamping and cutting out flowers from craft foil at the moment. I inked the ATC with DI Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint and stamped the lovely Paper Artsy hot picks stamps, in Peeled Paint to create the background and the title. The bird and the flowers are Crafty Individuals stamps. Everything is edged with mixed gold and bronze foil flakes and some added bling in the flowers. Everthing is from Craft Den. Now I just have to think about what on earth I am going to do for June's theme of shoes!

I also had a play with some lovely Basic Grey Green at Heart paper, Prima Sprites flowers and card candy from Craft Den. I have used an image I bought recently, watercoloured with DIs. He is lovely isn't he?! I added a bit of bling and buttons from stash.

Hope you like! I hope you all have a lovely weekend as well, even if it rains!

Emma's Easter Eggs

I had a lovely time as usual at Craft Den scrapbooking crop last night. We had free reign a bit last night and it will be good to see all the different pages we all created on the blogs. I had just printed some photos I took of the boiled eggs which Emma decorated for nursery and the easter basket she made, and Lynne produced the perfect harlequin patterned paper to match! I think it is a sandylion paper??

We used some 6 x 6 Crafter's Workshop templates to add detail. I used them round the edge of my circle with Victorian Velvet DI. I also used them on the green die cut flourishes, using Broken China DI. I backed my layout onto a piece of Bo Bunny dotty cardstock. I think it is one of the new colours, Lynne has a lot of lovely new ones in, which I have managed not to but yet, lol. Emma 'won' some mini eggs for her lovely creations! They all did, bless, they are only 3!

I have also done 3 more 8x8 layouts for my album of Emma as a baby. All the photos are in order up to 12 weeks old at New Year 2007. I think I am up to the 10 weeks pictures for this album. It's sad how quickly you forget. At one stage I could have told you how old she was to the day! I just checked, she's 3 years, 7 months and 14 days old today, lol!

Lynne has a lovely range of Prima E range flowers in, from £1.50. They are a lovely bargain. I have used some on my last layout here. Love the dotty ones.

I just found a memory card in my drawer and found a lot of lovely photos of Emma at her 2nd birthday I didn't know we had. What a lovely surprise, fresh scrapbook photos! Lovely one of her in her sleepsuit and wellies! I can't for the life of me remember why, but it will make a lovely page!

My First Award!!

As usual I have been away for a while, busy with work and Emma and general life. I try not to spend too much extra time on the laptop as I already spend all day on it and my neck is not good at the moment, so sorry again for having to catch up!

Firstly, THANKS SO MUCH!!! to Kerry for my first blog award. I am so pleased you thought of me Kerry, thank you! Now the hard part as I don't personally know 12 crafters with blogs, lol, and I don't have time to visit very many blogs, so there are only 10!
Many of you will have had this already I see from Kerry's list!
In no particular order:
Lynne
Chanelle
Ann
Ann
Pat
Gez
Jo
Natasha
Sue
Sandra

We had a lovely time at Race for Life on Sunday. Not only was it hard not to cry all day with the touching messages people had written on their back signs about why they they were there today, they started reading them over the loud speakers!! I am so soft, they can't do things like that to me!

Here is me, my mum and Liz with our medals and sprinting for the finish line. My camera shy mum managed to hide behind me for that photo!

Lastly, I have finished decorating 2 more plywood boxes with some Prima papers found in Burnley (coming soon to Craft Den yeah!!) They are quite simply decorated with stamped and cut out elusive images butterfly and flower images on coordinating paper and craft foil. The blue one contains tags and ATC blanks for decorating, the pink one has all my plain (black, brown, beige) buttons in it and the pink/green one with the rose top has all my metallic buttons in it. They look lovely all lined up on my shelf. Hope you like. :-)

More layouts

Sorry I am still in catch up as I have been away this week and no crafting has been done. However I did do two scrapbook layouts last week, using up the last of my Bo Bunny papers from the Craft Den (well almost, I am sure you will see some cards soon with the leftovers, lol). Emma as usual is the star sitting and posing for a photo at bedtime when she was at Grandma and Grandads and Poppy, my other little girl, being sooo tiny as usual!

BTW, on Sunday my mum, my sister Liz and me are doing the Race for Life in Burnley. I will be running (ha, ha, walking) for my lovely Grandma, Elsie Jackson who died in 1989 from leukaemia and Dan's auntie Jill Lowe who died of breast cancer in 2009. My mum also lost her cousin Gillian a few years ago and my auntie lost a good friend Karen last year to cancer as well. I think we all could run or walk for someone, it's such a horrible disease. That said I am looking forward to it as I hear the atmosphere is great. Also it will be interesting to see my mum finish 5 K, LOL!

Sorry I have not had chance to surf tonight on everyone's blogs, I will catch up, I promise next week!

A few cards

Hi, just thought I would post a few cards I have made with some of my Magnolia, Gorjuss and Woodware stamps. I am trying to actually use some of my stash and stop buying more and more. We will be on the Life of Grime programme soon as one of those houses where the people have to dig tunnels through their belongings to move around the house, lol!

The Magnolia and Gorjuss stamps and all the punches I used are from Craft Den as well as the papers on the wedding card. I coloured in with distress inks and copics, and used some lovely doilies and textured ribbon, all from Craft Den. Everything else from stash. K x

Mica powder cards and frame

We had a really lovely time at Craft Den on Wednesday painting with Blonde Moments and Perfect Pearls mica powders, and then running the papers through various embossing folders on the sizzix big shot.I used the hearts and wings Tim Holtz sizzix dies and some punched flowers. I had a go later on at home as well with a fleur de Lys die. This is a really nice effect, some of us rubbed over the embossed card with sandpaper blocks to expose the black background again, which looked really nice.

I also used some mica paints on a frame I did a few weeks ago. I painted the frame with gesso, layering it to make a textured background, then painted it over with black adirondack dabber paint and then highlighted some of the rippled areas with gold, blue and copper painted mica powder. I finished it with a layer of painted glossy accents and added stamped images cut and embossed from craft foil. Everything is from the craft den, except the crown and frame from my stash. Lynne also has some really lovely Viva metallic paints which I would really like to try next time!

I hope you like them.

Latest scrapbook pages

Only a quick post today. I have managed to get some good crafting in lately. I went to the scrapbook class at Craft Den last Thursday, first in a while as I have been trying loads of new techniques on Wednesdays for a while, but I had a treat and went on Thursday as well last week. I tend to have a run of obsessions and once I made my first LO for a while, last Thursday, I have now made another 5! Here they all are. I have made good use of the Bo Bunny Jazmyne and Sophie papers I bought from the Craft Den.

This was the class LO from last week with Bo Bunny papers and a really lovely technique, tearing and rolling back the inner circle of paper and adding some brads. I meant to add a title to this page but I haven't got round to it yet. I am still stuck on what the title should be

Here are the LOs I made over the weekend and this week. I am sure my mum thinks I am made with this hobby, sitting and cutting out over a bank holiday weekend!

This one has the photos Emma took of her feet. I could eat them, they are so delicious! She grabs her feet and says 'No, don't eat my tootsies!' love it!

Emma on the coach and holding a mouse at White Post Farm, a recent nursery trip, where we had a great time. Her friend Jacob is behind her on the coach. She was so giddy to be on the coach next to him!

In the paddling pool last summer.

A double LO which I based on a recent Craft Den class page, which I didn;t go to, but I have pinched the look and ideas! This is at Wroxham Barns in Norfolk over Easter, holding a chick and a guinea pig. She really enjoys holding the animals. A future vet perhaps? LOL, pushy mummy already having ideas!

Well it was a long post afterall! Cards from last night and my recent altered items to follow in another post I think.
